Colombia Telephone News:
Colombia's wired and wireless telephone service providers have implemented changes in the domestic access network which now affect the method of placing calls from any telephone, standard or cellular. The changes have been in effect since October 1, 1998.
Cellular roaming is automatic nationwide in Colombia and two additional international and domestic long distance carriers will be operational by the end of 1998. Following are some examples of the implemented changes and instructions for placing calls with the new system:
